HELLO THERE!

Welcome to my blog In No Hurry and to take part in my hopefully adventurous exchange student semester in Osaka University. To start with, here's a quick run-through of this blog: on top there's the navigation bar where you can find all the pages. Blog is as the name suggests. Suomeksi is the Fnnish version of the blog. Recommendations contains sights to see, foods to try and places to visit which I recommend. Gallery contains my photographs of Finland and Japan (Go take a look!) and Contact leads you to an online message box where you can send me comments or recommendations if you have any.

I'm a 22-years-old university student, Japanese Major at Helsinki University. I love books and movies and rainy days. Cuddling under my blankets in a pillow nest with a mug of cocoa is my idea of heaven. Ice, snow, winter and cold doesn't bother me at all, instead I start to suffer the moment the climate turns hot and humid.

My social skills? The word skills is already misleading. I can survive, by making an utter fool of myself, but I guess at least it's amusing for others. Also, I have a poor track-record with doors. I have absolutely no idea how to work doors, not even the automatic ones. I more often than not, end up walking (or running) face first into them, not knowing how to get them open.

And finally just to give a fair warning; my updates are as irregular as they can get, so, if you get too impatient for the newest happenings, check my social media, sneak peaks can be found there first. Photos appear before text content!

As my handle suggests, I'm a night owl and as a side-effect of that personality trait, I'm also absolutely hopeless in the mornings. I was born and raised in the countryside in Finland, where fields and forests are more common than high-rise buildings, moving from place to place requires an actual vehicle because public transportation doesn't really exist and everyone knows what everyone did last summer (The level of gossip is no joke!)

So, believe me when I say, that moving to the second largest city of Japan, Osaka, is definitely going to be a lifestyle change. Most likely, a hilarious one.

Despite my default nature of holing myself indoors more often than not, I also have a habit of wandering around unfamiliar places, photographing things that catch my eye, stopping at small and cozy eateries and cafés and trying everything that seems delicious. I'm a picky eater but doesn't stop me from loving good food and sweets. My main principle at the moment is to take it easy, enjoy life and not to be in any hurry, thus the name of the blog. Let's see whether I can uphold that.
